Welcome to Bolton Under 5’s Preschool and to the 2011/ 2012 preschool year.
This year, we are looking forward to building on the successes of 2010/11 which was a record breaker in terms of child numbers and financially, Pennie Porter was promoted to Preschool manager and her new deputy appointed, and of course we dug our way to victory at the carnival.
As a charity our strong financial position means that we have invested in improved facilities and resources for the children and professional development for our staff. We are proud of our staffs’ hard work and dedication and thank them for increasing the average qualification level and implementing new ideas and practices into the childrens day. We are continuing with a staff to child ratio of 1:6 for over 3’s, which betters the Ofsted requirement of 1:8, and in addition to our own music and movement sessions, we welcome a freelance specialist in this area,as we feel it is such an important and enjoyable activity.
Our AGM will be on Tuesday 8th November and all committee posts will, as usual, be available should anyone else like to volunteer to join us, either as an officer or a general committee member. Please speak to a committee member if you’re interested or require more information. We hope that some of our new parents will join the committee this year and enjoy offering guidance and support to preschool.

We are situated in the heart of Old Basing and have been established
for over 30 years. We aim to provide a friendly, happy and safe learning environment for pre-school children, aged from 2 years 6 months. We are based at the Beddington Centre which is a light open space with secure outdoor facilities.
We encourage a free flow environment in which children can choose which activities they wish to do and move from one to the next independently, while supported by staff. All activities planned and carried out with the children from role play and crafts to maypole dancing and visits ensure that they gain positive exposure to life, learning and their surroundings through fun activities.
As a registered charity and parent committee led preschool, your child's safety, enjoyment and education is our main priority.
